American Friends of Lafayette Lancaster

Lafayette is Returning to Lancaster County and You are Invited!

American hero Marquis de Lafayette will once again visit Lancaster County and Western Chester County on July 27-29, 2025 as part of the American Friends of Lafayette200 Bicentennial initiative to commemorate Lafayette’s triumphant Farewell Tour of America.

“Just who is the Marquis de Lafayette?” you might ask. The Marquis de Lafayette was a young nineteen year old Frenchman who sailed across the Atlantic Ocean to join the Revolutionary War in 1777. His bravery and ability to secure France’s assistance in the war effort are credited in the success of the Continental Army’s defeat of the British at the Battle of Yorktown in 1781.

In our area, the Lafayette200 Planning Team has pieced together a vibrant patchwork of historic Lafayette200 Bicentennial festivities that will showcase Lafayette as he enjoys the beauty and gracious hospitality of Lancaster County and Western Chester County!

Step back with us into 1825 and experience “living history” by following in Lafayette throughout our area, where thousands of people turned out to pay homage to this American hero during his Farewell Tour!

Join the Marquis de Lafayette for this historic commemoration of Lafayette’s visit to Lancaster and Western Chester Counties on July 27, 28 and 29, 2025!
