February 9, 2023
I don’t know about you but I’m thinking the “Groundhog” was wrong! At least for now. As temporary as it might be, I’m enjoying the Spring weather. I do have a feeling we won’t get through February without a sudden change. I’m pretty sure we’ll see a cold (and maybe snowy) couple of days before we get to March, but maybe not.
This weekend, you may have heard, there’s a football game. How great would it be for The Eagles to come up big this weekend and win it all. Here’s what the “predictions” say…
According to the Madden NFL 23 game…the Eagles will beat the Chiefs 31-17.
And, according to Magoo, a Scottsdale Arizona sea lion at the OdySea Aquarium, the Eagles will win.
Good luck to all and for me, I know I’ll be a winner because I’m a fan of pizza!
January 19, 2023
I have to admit I’m not a big fan of winter, but this winter has been one I can deal with. I almost shouldn’t say that because it’s almost inviting a big storm.
But so far we’ve gotten off pretty easy… If you’re a fan of snow, well, it hasn’t been a year for that…
The holidays flew by and spring really is just around the corner, right? Big things are on the way this year including at the York Fair. In fact, Scott & Kim will be giving away tickets for a big show at the fair all next week… listen to find out more about that!
Finally… I read that Chevy has created the fastest Corvette ever. The E-ray is a gas electric hybrid that can go from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds.
(But, so does Bob our engineer when he sees me set my cup of coffee too close to the sound console in here…)
Have a great day!
May 10, 2022
Well the weather is finally warmer and things are getting busy. In fact, the Froggy Calendar of Fun is getting filled up. It’s great to be able to be out and around again though! And the Froggy crew is everywhere!
The word is out about the lineup for the Froggy stage at the York State Fair this Summer and it’s gonna be awesome. It’s tough to decide who I’m looking forward to seeing the most, but on the other hand…I’m probably looking forward to seeing the people of Froggyland the most I think. Here comes Summer.
I’m taking the next week or two to finish up a few tv series I’ve been watching. The binge must stop because I’m ready to be back outside again! Even if it’s to cut the grass. You know what I always say…I’d rather cut grass than shovel snow…any day!
Have a great day!
April 1, 2022
We’ve had a great time giving up Mr. Froggy’s cash this week! Thousands worth of green already gone and plenty more to come. Listen weekdays at 9, 11, 2 and 4 to hear your name called…you’ll have ten minutes to call and claim the cash! If you’re not already…get registered by going to foreveryork.com. Good Luck!
This weekend it serious college roundball time and at this point…since there’s really nothing left of my bracket…I’m thinking that North Carolina not only beats Duke this weekend, but wins it all. Being a Maryland fan it really hurts to face it, but that’s what’s going to happen I think.
Hey…Spring really is coming…Have a great weekend!
March 11, 2022
Happy weekend to you!
This is the kind of weather that makes you wonder what season it is. Winter or Spring? It’s both! It’s Sprinter…or maybe Wing? A snowy Saturday is expected…and then warming up to the 60’s next week.
It’s also Daylight Savings Weekend…It’s one of my favorite weekends of the year, but I know not everyone is a fan of DST. I love the extra sunlight. Also, when you set your clocks ahead, change the batteries in your smoke alarm…
Finally…the baseball lockout has ended! I’m a baseball fan so this makes me very happy…Spring training gets started this weekend and opening day is April 7th!
Here comes Spring and I love it! Have great weekend!
February 18, 2022
Hey welcome to the weekend…
It’s a mixed bag of weather this weekend. That’s happening often these days. This weekend, some of it is cold…even snow squalls…some will be sunny and by Monday we’ll be back to 60 degrees. I bet Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see that coming.
Also a first sign of “almost Spring” this weekend, it’s the Daytona 500 on Sunday and the 2022 Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony also takes place this Sunday.
This weekend, we must begin to learn to live without football on TV also. I’m a fan of college basketball so I’ll be ok…I hope you will be too.
February 11, 2022
Hey, welcome to another weekend!
A little taste of Spring has been great this week…The groundhog predicted six more weeks of Winter but he may be wrong this year After all…he’s only 39% accurate. We’ll see where we go from here but an early Spring is ok with me…
This past week we went past the day of the year that is the day, on the average, that people abandon their New Year’s resolution. If it’s something important for you…hang in there!
Finally, this weekend is the big game. Seems like there is less interest this year. Probably because of the two teams playing. I like it though. Seeing two teams that aren’t usually in the big game is great. The Bengals have never won a Super Bowl and I think they might surprise everyone and do it this year. Yep, I pick the Bengals to win!
Have a great weekend!
January 21, 2022
Well here we are…10 days to Groundhog Day, and I don’t know about you, but I’m hoping Spring is just around the corner. It seems like it’s been a really cold Winter. We’ll soon find out from the “Great Hog” …
It’s going to be cold this weekend too…perfect for hibernating and watching football….I’d love to see the 49ers win this weekend…but I’m pretty sure it’ll be a Green Bay year.
Hard to believe it’s almost February isn’t it. And I have iend who has finished holiday shopping for next year! Unbelievable I know! That’s definitely not the way I roll…
Have a great weekend!
November 24, 2021
Well it’s kind of a whirlwind of holiday activity and I hope you’re doing ok so far…
Maybe it’s time to enjoy one more leftover turkey sandwich and watch a holiday movie…but which one? Here are the top 5 Holiday movies according to a new survey by a theater chain...
Top 5 Holiday Movies
2. “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”
3. “A Christmas Story”
4. “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”
5. “It’s a Wonderful Life”
I think that’s kind of my list of favorites except I’ll add 3 to it…
Home Alone…The Sam Elliot movie “Prancer” and of course, “The Charlie Brown Christmas” special…I know…not a movie…but still.
Have a great weekend and good luck finding shopping deals
November 12, 2021
Thinking back to all of the futuristic things we’ve seen over the years in TV and movies…it’s pretty amazing how many things have really come to exist…I mean, plenty of things came from Star Trek even. After all, the communicators they used were just early versions of cell phones, right? And look at the movie “Back To The Future.” Today we have motorized skateboards, and self lacing sneakers…and…flying cars? Yes we do. Several companies have them on the way including Hyundai. They say their flying electric taxi will begin service in 6 or 7 years from now. The taxi will go 60 miles on a charge and travel at up to 180 mph. the vehicles take off and land vertically. How’s that for an easy commute to work? Nice right?…Take that George Jetson!
Have a great weekend! Turkey Day is on the way!
October 22, 2021
Welcome to the weekend!
Looks like we’re in for a typical Fall weekend. It’s going to be cooler and I can’t help but be a little unhappy about it getting dark earlier these days…but the change of seasons is nice in central PA!
I have a few hobbies…buying and trying great coffee…playing video games….road trips to interesting places…but none of them compare to this hobby…collecting dinosaur bones. The world’s largest triceratops dinosaur skeleton sold yesterday for $7.7 million. A private collector bought it at a Paris auction house.
The 23-foot skeleton is 66 million years old. Now that is an expensive hobby…
Have a great weekend and get out and enjoy something pumpkin spicy!
October 8, 2021
Time is flying by and it’s almost Halloween already! This might be the weekend for you to stock up on your Halloween candy, while the “good stuff” is still available. Besides…you know you want to have plenty of “leftovers” right?
Captain Kirk will really go to space next week…He says he’s kind of terrified and I don’t blame him for that.
William Shatner will go into space next week aboard Jeff Bezos’ rocket. Here’s what he says…
“I’m planning on putting my nose against the window [once I’m in space], and my only hope is I won’t see someone else looking back.” Remember he’s the guy who played an airplane passenger who saw someone on the wing in a very famous episode of Twilight Zone. Yeah…space travel…not for me.
Have a very pumpkin spice weekend!
September 28, 2021
I’ve heard plenty of people say they like living around central P.A. because they like the change of seasons. We, those people should be pretty happy. We changed from Summer to Fall almost on the day that Fall started. But you know we’ll have another pretend Summer before October ends. We always do. It seems that usually the 2nd or 3rd week of October we see another streak of 80 degree days. I guess that’s nature’s way of giving us the “2 minute warning” to get our yard ready for winter.
Meanwhile…enjoy the cooler temperatures…and the fantastic Fall food and fun. It’s apple time…It’s almost Halloween time…and it’s definitely pumpkin spice time. I do enjoy a good pumpkin spice coffee…and a few other pumpkin spice things but I don’t go too far with it. Not like this…
A sign on a garage in St. Paul, Minnesota says… “We Now Have Pumpkin Spice Motor Oil”
Have a great week!
September 2, 2021
Welcome to the weekend, and for many it’s a weekend of the three day variety and that’s a great thing!
I hope your yard made it through the unbelievable rain this week and the weather for this weekend is looking pretty good for the most part. i don’t know about you but I kind of like the Fall. The not too hot or too cold temperatures suit me pretty well and it gives me a chance to get everything in order around the outside of the house. It also gives me a chance to do some comfortable bike riding and outdoor adventuring. The only kind of sad thing is…that this weekend means an unofficial end of summer is here…that summer was fast right? Well what do you think of Labor Day?
A new survey says: :
– 17% of Americans consider Labor Day one of the nation’s most important holidays
– 20% of Americans consider Labor Day one of the nation’s least important holidays
However we feel about the holiday, almost half of us will attend a Labor Day weekend Barbecue of some sort. A holiday that involves great food I’m ok with. Have a great weekend!
August 24, 2021
It’s a day worth celebrating. It’s National Waffle Day!
I can say this for sure, breakfast is definitely my favorite meal of the day. I never miss breakfast and I sometimes even eat breakfast foods for dinner. Going out on a weekend for a great breakfast or brunch is something I’ve always been a fan of. But the question for today is this:
Which do you like best: Waffles, pancakes, or French toast? Well, according to a recent poll, we like pancakes the best, followed by French toast, and then waffles. But for me…I guess I like pancakes the most too…but really, I’ll take all three. And an omelet on the side
Have a great day!
August 20, 2021
It’s really hard to believe but the summer is flying by and it’s almost Labor Day Weekend. I do feel like I was able to pack a good amount of fun into the summer though…and as long as the warm weather holds up I’m not done yet. In fact, I love riding my bike when the humidity dies down and the temperatures cool a little.
I found this new study interesting…but not too surprising…check it out…
A new study found 8 in 10 adults really are creatures of habit — 8 out of 10 of us eat the same breakfast every day (I do), stick to the same style of clothing, and even use the same mug (I rotate 5 mugs but still).
And here’s the one that surprises me…56 percent of us sleep on the same side of the bed every night. I’m just surprised it’s not higher. I thought most people, especially couples had a “side” of the bed.
Have a great weekend!
August 6, 2021
Here we go! It’s the weekend! I have that feeling that Summer is slipping away quickly, but we still have some time to enjoy the warm weather.
It doesn’t matter how you feel about Tom Brady…you gotta love this. A Tom Brady fan recently paid $120,000 to catch a pass from him. It’s obviously going to be a charity event so it’s all good. The fan also gets to take a selfie with Tom and Tom will sign the picture. Then the fan will fly to Florida on a private jet…stay in a nice hotel and then go to Tampa Bay-Giants game. A nice package to give for charity.
I wonder what happens if the fan drops the pass…talk about pressure right?
Have a great weekend!
July 23, 2021
Here we go! It’s been a long time…but time to dive in. The York State Fair is here!
Hope to see you there sometime over the next ten days. The Froggy Stage is really exceptional this year and there are plenty of memories about to be made. You ready?
I’m ready to get to the fair and find one of those fantastic ham & cheese sandwiches! Also ice cream, funnel cake….well you get the point…Grab some tasty chow and get to the Froggy Stage every night! It’s gonna be awesome!!!
Have a great time!
July 20, 2021
I know it seems like it’s been a long time since we all got together at the York State Fair…and that’s because it has been a long time! But we’re almost there! The Fair starts on Friday and it really is great to be back at the Fair and the Froggy stage! There are about…well…24 acts I’m looking forward to seeing this year and things get underway Friday night!!! You ready?
At this point the weather is looking good and I’m ready to find some Fair food with a high “Yum Factor.”
Just to celebrate, I think you should know this. Pizza is more nutritious for breakfast than a bowl of cereal.
It’s about the same calories but pizza has lots more protein…not to mention lots less sugar.
So get to the fair early (and grab breakfast) and stay late (enjoy the Froggy stage show) and we’ll see you there!
July 16, 2021
On the one hand, I have plenty of yard things to attend to this weekend…but it’s been quite a heatwave and here’s hoping a few showers show up and cool things down a little this weekend too
I can’t help but be impressed by Richard Branson going to space this past week. Would I do it…Not a chance. But I still think it’s pretty brave of someone who has enough money he doesn’t ever have to do anything to do something like that.
Going to space is brave, but this is amazing!
Oreo has a new packaging system that stops kids from stealing mom & dad’s cookies, The outside of Oreo Thins bags now look like a package of Green Giant veggies, a Ford truck owner’s manual, a package of Haines’ t-shirts or a Better Homes and Gardens cookbook…Genius right?
Going to space is impressive but…disguising cookies is genius!
July 6, 2021
I hope you had a great 4th of July weekend!
It’s funny that I saw this survey last week and then…over the weekend…I heard a conversation at a backyard I was in…that was all about this…The question is…Is a hot dog a sandwich?…
I understand the debate…although it’s a bit pointless…In the survey I’m referring to…57% of people said that hot dogs are a sandwich. I’m not sure. I think if you slice a hot dog and put it on bread then it’s a sandwich. If you put it on a hot dog roll, it’s not a sandwich. That’s just me though.
Also in this survey…15% of people who put cheese on their burger put it on the bottom of the meat. Wow!
Remember the great Burger Emoji debate of a few years ago. the emoji was actually changed so the cheese was on top of the burger because so many people complained that was under the meat. Can’t win right?
All I know is any holiday that involves cooking burgers and hot dogs on the grill…I’m in!
Have a great day, and a great short work week.
July 2, 2021
It’s been my pleasure sitting in on the morning show all week but Scott is back on Tuesday and things get back to normal again…Between now and then though…it’s a big holiday weekend…You ready for it?
The stats show that we’ll spend $7.5 billion dollars on 4th of July food. And we drink more beer on July 4th than any other day. So it looks like a big party weekend coming up. Celebrate big! And wisely!!!! Be careful and have fun!
Also from a new poll that’s out, 65% of Americans say fireworks are their favorite part of the 4th of July. Really? Don’t get me wrong…I love fireworks too. but if I had to choose between an empty plate and glass with fireworks…or…a full plate and glass and no fireworks…well…you know
Have a great weekend!
June 25, 2021
Happy weekend! It’s going to be summer this weekend for sure! Looks like it’ll be hotter and that’s ok…right?
It’s hard to believe but it’s only a week until 4th of July weekend.
I saw two studies in the last few days and I’ve decided…I’m going on the chocolate & french fry diet!
Check this out…a new study found that eating 100 grams of milk chocolate every morning for two weeks…that’s like more than 2 full sized Hershey bars…seemed to boost metabolism…despite upping calorie intake…
And a separate study, at Purdue University, they found that eating French fries can help lower your blood pressure….but they need to be baked…not fried…
I’m not sure if these things will actually work…but I’m willing to give it a try!
Have a great weekend!
June 21, 2021
I hope you had a great weekend. And I hope you managed to celebrate Father’s Day.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat on Saturday when I was hanging out at the Markets Of Shrewsbury. It was a beautiful day and a great time!
Today is the first official full day of Summer. I hope you have plans to get out and enjoy. This Summer will definitely look a little different than last year for sure. For one thing…I’m planning to do some weekend trips this Summer and some one day getaways too! I’m ready to be out and around again. I did manage to get my lawn mowed yesterday and it really is a job I mostly enjoy. I like being out working in the yard.
Have a great day, even though it is Monday…
June 18, 2021
Here we go into another big weekend!
This Sunday is Father’s Day weekend and I hope you’re celebrating somehow. According to a new survey, the #1 thing that dad’s want this year is…family time! Sounds like a great plan…even if it’s just hanging out at the pool…or throwing some groundhog on the grill…remember to look out for dad this weekend…
Sunday is also the official start of Summer…and we’ve definitely earned this summer right?
Do something fun this weekend and enjoy it!
June 15, 2021
Hey! I happen to know…you’re having fun! Here’s how I know…Pennsylvania ranks in the top 10 of fun states!
It’s true. An annual study ranked all 50 states by how fun they are. It’s based on 26 different things that all involve stuff to do. State Parks, Amusement Parks, weather, restaurants, bars and more. West Virginia and Mississippi are the least fun. California, Florida & Nevada are the top of the “fun” list. Pennsylvania is in the top 10 though! I’m not sure which state it is that has the world’s largest ball of twine, but that state must be in the top 10 too right?
Just a reminder here! Father’s Day is this Sunday! Are you ready for it?
Enjoy the fantastic summer weather!
June 11, 2021
Hey we did it! We made it to another weekend…And our weekends are looking much more normal these days…and that’s a good thing. When the pandemic was going full steam, weekends seemed like just a chance to hibernate in the family room and be lazy. But Summer is here and I’m feeling more like getting out and enjoying the weekends!
Here are a few tips from a Lifestyle Expert on how to help yourself have a great weekend. Avoid work email and social media…spend time with family and friends…get some exercise…get outside…enjoy some good food and/or drinks…and do something you love to do.
Sounds like some great advice. I’m going to ride my bicycle to a nearby friends house, sit on the backyard deck and enjoy burgers and beverages. I think I’m covering all my bases this weekend.
Happy Summer and Happy Weekend! Enjoy!
June 8, 2021
Happy National Best Friends Day! In a new survey 3 out of 4 people said it’s possible to have more than one best friend. I’m completely on board with that. I have many friends, but I don’t think I can rank my friends according to who’s the better friend…or the “best”. Nothing good comes from that. How about if we say…”Happy Friends Day”
Maybe celebrate the day with a tasty cicada dish. In Baltimore, The Maryland Zoo is feeding cicadas to some of their animals. Snakes, lizards, frogs, turtles and birds love ’em…prairie dogs, chimps and elephants hate them. I’m not sure which side I’m on, and I’ll never know. I have no plans to taste cicadas to find out.
Have a great day!
June 4, 2021
Today has three things going for it…First…It’s Friday! Second…It’s the beginning of the weekend we we’re supposed to have last weekend…as far as the weather goes. Sunny & Hot! And Third, it’s National Donut Day! And yes…that is the preferred spelling for donut. I love donuts and if it’s National Donut Day, how can I refuse. Just so you can look like the smart one when you’re sitting around the firepit this weekend I’ll tell you…Glazed donuts are America’s favorite. And here’s what’s really shocking to me! 1% of Americans hate donuts? I’m not sure how it’s possible to hate donuts but there you go. That would be like hating pizza…or Fridays…or payday right?
Have a great weekend!
June 1, 2021
I hope you had a good weekend. Turned out that yesterday’s weather was great for back yard get togethers and maybe you had a chance to do that.
Have to say big congratulations to Jimmie Allen and his fiancee Alexis who got married on Thursday. That probably made for a big weekend for them no doubt.
Over the weekend, I got some rest, did some things around the house, watched a few movies, also the Friends reunion show (pretty good) and spent some time with family.
Now I’m ready to dive into June, and Summer, here we go,,,
May 28, 2021
It’s Memorial Day weekend and that means a few things. Hopefully it means a three day weekend for you. But it also means something important to all of us. It’s a day we specifically set aside to remember the people who died while serving in our country’s armed forces. Please take some time to remember the occasion this weekend.. And while we’re at it…it’s always a good time to thank all veterans…and those who are serving today.
This weekend is also the unofficial beginning of Summer, and it won’t feel much like it. Looks like rain most of the weekend, and cooler. Maybe use the big umbrella you have on your deck to cover you…outside…grilling. Might work if you do it carefully. I’ll take a burger, medium well, with everything!
Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
May 25, 2021
Just a thought here but we’re heading toward a big cooking out weekend. Checked your propane yet? Got enough charcoal or whatever you need for the grill? Just trying to make sure you’re ready.
We’re also getting things more back to normal as the pandemic sure seems to be calming down. In fact, sales of things like teeth whitener, perfume, nail polish, sunscreen, luggage and swimsuits are skyrocketing. And here’s one I don’t quite understand. Sales of alarm clocks are also going through the roof. Some stores are selling twice as many as the same month last year. I always just use the alarm on my phone??? Am I the only one that does that?
Have a great day!
May 21, 2021
It sure feels like Summer…I think we finally made it to warmer weather and I love it. It was a long Winter right.
I know next weekend is the (unofficial) beginning of Summer, but this weekend’s weather might make it worth starting a week early.
If grilling outside is a Summer thing for you, and if you like grilling up some steaks, you need to know that people are judging you on how you like it cooked. From a new study…half of us judge people who don’t like their steak cooked the same way we do. Medium and medium-rare are most popular. Well done is the least popular. For me…I’m ok with most ways, but no matter what, I’m doing the A-1 steak sauce! I know. Some people just judged me as really bad because of that comment.
Have a great weekend! And be checking out Scott & Kim Monday morning at 7:05 to find out the Froggy Stage line-up for the Fair!
May 18, 2021
I hope you got it done on time! Yesterday was tax day (almost forgot right?) and hopefully you ended up alright. I think the stats show that close to 50% of people are expecting a tax refund this year. I’m certainly no expert but it seems to me…if half of us owe money and half of us are getting money back….if we just traded some money back and forth between the two it would save lots of paperwork. Just a thought…
But, here’s a nice stat. In a new survey, one third of people say they will either invest or save their refund. Sounds like a good plan.
I guess the unofficial start to summer is really two weeks away, but the weather thinks it should be this weekend. Temperatures will be in the 80’s before the weekend! Bring it on!!! Almost Summer and welcome to it!!!
May 14, 2021
Welcome to the weekend!
Looks like a pretty nice weekend as far as the weather goes…I’m planning to spend lots of time outside…
By the way…if you’re going to do the same…remember you can always take Froggy with you by way of the froggy app…just go to your app store, search for Forever radio, click on Froggy 107.7 and you’re good to go!
Check this out…here’s how not to start your day….by using your snooze alarm…a new study shows that
if you stay in bed for just 14 minutes after your alarm goes off for the first time it can throw your entire day off. I don’t use snooze alarms. In fact I put my alarm where I have to stand up to turn it off. Works for me. Maybe set your alarm for earlier so you can enjoy the snooze alarm time?
Have a great weekend!
May 11, 2021
I’ve kinda had enough of the Spring showers thing. Seems like when I have the time to cut my grass…it’s raining. When I don’t have the time…the sun is shining. This weekend the temperatures are expected to be in the 70’s again and sunny for the most part. I think the temperature and my time available will meet up this weekend…finally!
Today is National Eat What You Want Day. In a survey recently, here’s what people said they would eat every day if they could without worrying about how healthy they are.
The top 10 are…
4. Ice cream.
5. Tacos or burritos.
I’ll just pick three for dinner tonight. Maybe #5 (It’s Taco Tuesday after all), #7 and #4. Now I’m hungry.
Have a great day!
May 7, 2021
Here we go into the weekend and it’s a special one! It’s Mother’s Day weekend! Happy Mother’s day to you if you’re a mom!
Mom’s day brunches are pretty big and recently there was a study (based on Google searches) about the most popular Mom’s Day brunch foods state by state. Bacon or sausage came up #1 in 21 different states. In Pa. it’s sausage. In Maryland it’s chicken & waffles. In a few states the #1 was booze! Bloody Mary’s or Mimosa’s. Now that makes for a memorable Mom’s Day brunch I guess.
However you celebrate…enjoy!
Happy Mother’s Day!
May 4, 2021
Well it’s May the 4th and you know what that means…If you’re a Star Wars fan you definitely know what it means. I remember seeing the movie for the first time at the theater many years ago and I liked it. I didn’t have the feeling then that it would become the huge cultural phenomenon that it is though…On the other hand when I first saw Jar Jar Binks on the screen…I knew immediately that…well…never mind
Also today is National Teacher’s Day! I’ve always thought that everyone will have a teacher at some point in their life that will change their life in a positive way. We owe lots to teachers for sure! All this week we’ve teamed up with Dunkin’ to salute teachers. Make sure you thank any teacher you might see this week…and every day!
April 30, 2021
Happy Friday and here we go into the first weekend of May! May is probably one of my favorite months of the year. For one thing, my birthday is in May and that’s a happy time.
Also, this weekend is the Kentucky Derby. I’m not actually a big horse racing fan, but I know many people who are. Once upon a time I lived in Baltimore and I remember the excitement around Preakness time there. I’m sure Kentucky Derby excitement is big too!
Weekend before last I spent a good amount of time working in my yard. Trimming and weed whacking. My shoulder hurt so bad after that it took me over a week to recover. Lesson learned. Do that sort of work a little at a time.
Have a great weekend! Once the winds die down it’ll be a great weekend to fire up the grill! Dogs and Burgers! I’m in…
April 27, 2021
I watched most of the Oscars ceremony the night before last and I have to say they did a pretty good job of the show considering the year we’ve been through.
But I guess the question is…Do we still care about movie awards?…Check this out. The Oscars show had less than 10 million viewers and that’s the first time that’s ever happened…And that’s down 58% from last year…
I don’t think that’s happened because we don’t care about movies anymore…in fact I think it’s just the opposite. I think there are so many movies every year, and so many ways to watch them (Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc.) that we can’t see everything. There used to be a few nominees for Best Picture, this year there were 8. All good movies probably. But I only saw 4 of them. Seems like the movie that wins Best Picture is the one the critics really liked…but you and I may have never seen.
This year the Best Picture winner was “Nomadland”. I saw it and it was pretty good. But not as good as the winner for best Documentary…”My Octopus Teacher”…Now that was great. If you haven’t seen it…check it out.
Enjoy the summer weather!
April 20, 2021
I can’t help but think we’re losing our patience, in general, and it doesn’t always end well. The reason I say this is…
On my way to work this morning I was driving along and came upon a slow down…2 cars in fact, following a big farm vehicle going slowly….no big deal…the farm vehicle was travelling down the road to work in a different field (and grow food for me to eat I’m guessing) But the car in front of me decided not to wait and instead pass the vehicle…despite a double yellow line…up a hill…in a 45 mph speed limit…with almost no visibility over the hill ahead…what could go wrong? I watched as a car came over the hill and there was a near collision. Luckily…nothing happened and we all went on our way.
A few miles down the road i came across a bike rider ( I ride a bike too so I’m ok with sharing the road) But this bicycle rider was pedaling along…staring at his phone…for quite a while…What’s on the phone could probably have waited…
I got to work today and thought…today I’ll relax…and be patient…and not even mind watching my coffee brew…no matter how long it takes.
Have a great day!

Happy Friday! You’ve made it to the weekend and it’s going to be a big weekend for country music. The ACM Awards are this weekend. Sunday night in fact.
This year there will be tons of performances and it should be a great show. Early winners that have been announced include Best New Artist winners Gabby Barrett and Jimmie Allen. Kane Brown won for Video Of The Year…and this one that makes me real happy…Lee Brice and Carly Pearce won for “I Hope You’re Happy Now” as ACM Music Event Of The Year. Still one of my favorite songs. There are some very deserving winners there but now I guess I’ll make a few predictions.
I feel like it could be a big year for Luke Combs…He may pull off a big win for Entertainer Of The Year. I think he might win for Male Artist Of The Year too! And for Female Artist Of The Year…I’m picking Miranda Lambert. We’ll see…
Have a great Spring Weekend
April 13, 2021
The Spring showers have given me all the excuse I need to spend more time lately catching up on some TV shows and movies. I’ve seen some great stuff lately but I didn’t see this one and I wish I did. The North Texas softball game.
I had a relative…cousin in fact…who was a college softball pitcher a few years back…and I was able to watch some of the games on TV. I became somewhat of a fan of watching good college softball games and check this out…the one I wish I had seen.
Hope Trautwein, a pitcher at North Texas made history because she pitched the most perfect game in the history of division 1 softball. She struck out 21 batters and gave up no hits or walks over seven innings.
And that is awesome.
I’ve seen a baseball no-hitter and I know how hard it is to achieve…softball would be even harder I think.
April 9, 2021
Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend! I love Spring! I also love to eat and I saw this survey recently about how much we love weird food combos and I realized, we all know someone who has a weird food combo they like…including me. The survey showed these as some of the stranger combos:
- Pickles wrapped in cheese (gotta admit, that sounds pretty good)
- Ice Cream on meatloaf (yuk…I think)
- Mayo and peanut butter sandwiches (hmmm)
- And the most popular combo…Dipping french fries in a chocolate milk shake.
For me, and my dad taught me this one, peanut butter with spaghetti. Fantastic! And also something salty with ice cream, usually pretzels or peanuts.
Now all this talk about food has made me very hungry. For lunch today it’s leftover Easter eggs that I’ve magically transformed into egg salad.
Have a great weekend!
April 6, 2021
Looks like Spring is here big time! Including the showers part. If you haven’t done your first grass cutting of the season yet…you will soon…Looks like showers for much of the end of the week and into the weekend. I’m really ready for warmer weather.
This concerns me a little bit. Did you know we’re about to be facing a ketchup shortage because of the pandemic. When you think about it, it makes sense. Many restaurants are doing lots more to-go orders these days…and they’re using a bunch of ketchup packets to do it. So prices are way up.
In a recent study of favorite sauces…state by state…in Pa. and Md. it was ketchup. I’m a fan. And I like the varieties too. Spicy ketchup…No sugar added ketchup…jalapeno ketchup…and who remembers purple ketchup? Not sure if they still make that but…
Tonight for dinner…hot dogs with…yeah…Ketchup
Have a great day!
March 26, 2021
Happy Friday and Happy Weekend!
I am absolutely loving this weather but I have a feeling we aren’t out of the cold weather possibilities yet, but we’ll enjoy it while we’ve got it.
Plenty of Basketball yet to watch for this weekend. My Maryland Terrapins are out so I suppose I’m backing the only remaining team in their conference, and that’s Michigan. Oh well…
Finally…Big cash is up for grabs starting on Monday! The Big Money Mystery Clip! Listen all weekend to catch up on how it it works and get ready to win starting Monday!!! Good Luck!!!
Have a great weekend!
March 23, 2021
I’m lovin’ this weather and it only gets better from here.
It’s National Puppy Day! And with that in mind, I thought I would share with you the top puppy names this year. In case you’re getting one to celebrate puppy day this may help you.
A pet insurance company assembled a list of the top 10 puppy names after analyzing their database of more than 600,000 insured pets to come up it and here you are…
In order: Luna; Charlie; Cooper; Bella; Milo; Lucy; Bailey; Daisy; Coco; Max.
Have a great day!
March 19, 2021
It’s not only Friday…and into the weekend day…it’s also serious college basketball time!
Check this out…
Some employers keep employees focused throughout the tournament by having their IT departments block ESPN and Sports from computers. I hope your employer isn’t one of them…
Experts say watching games from work costs employers more than $1.3 billion in lost productivity…OK, that adds up but it’s just once a year. One more thing you should know.. Yesterday and Today are the two biggest sick days of the year for men. By the way, I’m not feeling too well…I’ll be out today because I’m uh…cough, cough…sick today.
I’m back on Monday to, hopefully, talk about a Maryland win in the tournament.
Have a great weekend and here’s hoping we turn the corner and head into Spring this weekend. Should be in the 60’s next week! I’ll take it!
Hope I feel better soon…
March 17, 2021
Ok so here we go…serious college basketball is about to get underway and I’m a fan. I love the tournament and there are few things you need to know.
First, Mt. St. Mary’s (yes the one down the road in Emmitsburg, Md.)is in and they play Thursday night. If they win, they go on to play Michigan.
Also, most everyone knows I’m a Maryland Terrapin fan. They play UConn on Saturday night. You’re support is appreciated.
Looks like maybe the next few days will be kind of cool…and rainy…perfect for watching the tournament. We should be back into the 60’s and Sunny next week.
March 12, 2021
Hey for me, I look forward to this weekend like it’s Christmas…Daylight savings time is here…
I love the extra hour of daylight and I love the feeling that Spring is on the way. A few things to remember though. The Monday after Daylight Savings Time starts is the worst Monday of the year for accidents. (people are sleepy I guess?) So be careful!
There is a bill making it’s way through the Senate to end Daylight Savings Time, If it passes this will be the last time we Spring forward. I guess I’m ok with that. It’s definitely better than setting the clocks back in the Fall and leaving it there.
And finally, remember…This weekend you change your clocks…and change your batteries in your smoke alarms!!!
Be safe and have a great weekend!
March 9, 2021
I had a few days off and I’m glad to be back in time for Spring. Nice right? Here’s what I’m really looking forward to though…Daylight Savings time. It’s this weekend and I’m ready for it. I know that some people don’t like it but I’m all in on an extra hour of daylight.
Check this out…The “Coming 2 America” sequel got more viewers than any other movie that premiered on a streaming service over the past year. Impressive right? I’ve seen it and it’s good…not great…but good. It was hard to live up to the expectation, but there are some fun surprises and funny moments. it’s on Amazon Prime by the way…
Have a great day…let’s head for the weekend!
February 26, 2021
This will be a great weekend too! For a few reasons…
1. This weekend marks two weeks until Daylight Savings Time.
2. Temperatures are going to be in the 50’s (maybe some rain, but that’s ok).
3. Monday will be March 1st…Spring is coming!
4. The Washington Nationals first Spring training game is Sunday, The Orioles first game is also Sunday, and The Phillies too! In other words baseball is back…I’m a fan!
And finally, check this out. A new survey asked people to name the lowest temperature that they believe is warm enough to wear SHORTS outside The most common answer was between 61 and 70, which got 25% of the vote. Between 71 and 80 came in second, with 23% of the vote. 8% of people say 41 to 50 is shorts weather… and there are even 4% of people who’ll wear shorts outside when it’s below 20. People who know me well know that I don’t go by temperature…I go by the calendar….I wear shorts from March 1st until Thanksgiving…no matter what…That’s how I roll…Have a great weekend!
February 23, 2021
Although Spring is a few weeks away…It’s starting to feel like it. I know lots of people love snow, but I’ve had enough for this year…A couple of football notes worth mentioning here…
Aaron Rodgers, yes that Aaron Rodgers from Green Bay, will be guest hosting Jeopardy. Really. He’s doing 10 episodes in April. i just can’t think of him as a game show host but who knows. It’ll be fun to watch.
And check this out. I predicted this might happen and here we go. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is interested in buying the Washington Football Team. As a life long Washington Football fan I’d love to see it. In fact…(and I’ve also mentioned this before) I hope he buys the team and changes the name to The Washington Amazons. Makes sense right? We’ll see…
Enjoy the warmer weather!
February 16, 2021
I don’t know about you but I’ve had about enough of Winter. Actually, I’m alright with Winter and even kind of cold weather…but the snow/ice routine every other day or so is something I can do without…I saw today that the polar vortex is making things cold for 97% of North America, so we definitely aren’t alone. Look forward to next week when we should be back in the 40’s for the week.
Happy Fastnacht Day!!! What do you think… plain…powdered…or cinnamon? I agree, all three.
By the way, I watched the movie “Joker” for the first time last night. Seriously…Joaquin Phoenix is a great actor.
Have a great day!
February 9, 2021
I know it’s tough, but time to get back to work for the week right? After the game Sunday night…almost everyone took Monday off. Some of us really took the day off and didn’t go to work. Plenty of us showed up for work but were trying to recover from football, food and fun. I’m ready to set my sights on Valentine’s Day coming up this weekend…but let’s wrap up football first.
Check this out…the Madden 21 video game predicted that Kansas City would beat Tampa Bay by a score of 28-21. Not so much. Tampa Bay won 31-9. Also the dolphin in Florida that picked the winner correctly the last 6 years or so…was wrong…here’s the happy guy after the game…An anonymous gambler made a $2.3 million bet on the Super Bowl. He bet the Buccaneers would cover a 3.5 point spread against the Chiefs. Good call…He won $2 million.
Baseball season is almost here!
Have a great day!
February 5, 2021
Well, here we go…Big Game weekend!
You know every year the Madden Football video game simulates the game and predicts the winner. This year…the game picks Kansas City. But it’s only right a little over half the time….we’ll see.
Speaking of the game on Sunday…did you take Monday off? Many people do. Look at this survey that just came out. 10% of people would rather work on Christmas or Thanksgiving than Monday after the game. And 43% of people would give up one of their work holidays in order to have Monday off.
I really do think the easy solution is to just move the game to Saturday…right? By the way, lots of people are in favor of that too…Enjoy the game…and I pick Kansas City to win by 7
January 29, 2021
Here comes another weekend and I’m ready for it…only problem is…how do we get through a weekend without the NFL. I guess we’re resting up for next weekend and The Battle of Brady and Mahomes. It should be a great game. I’m already starting to stock up on “football food” for next weekend too. Check this out…
According to a new survey from Frito-Lay, the top Super Bowl Dips are…
2. Cheese dips and spreads
3. French onion dip
I have to say, the only true chip dip is French Onion…nothing else is close…but I’m not sure I think of salsa as a dip…except for corn chips…I absolutely love salsa…and the hotter the better (within reason) but I like it more as a sauce. On burritos…tacos…taco salads…lots of things…I’m getting really hungry now so…have a great weekend…be ready for some snow coming Sunday afternoon…probably?
January 26, 2021
This is definitely not the weather anyone was hoping for…right? Even if you like winter and like snow, this isn’t fun…The Sleet, freezing rain and cold rain just made me want to go back to bed this morning. but after three cups of good coffee I’ve completely changed my outlook on life. I am for sure one of those that needs coffee to get going in the morning…so I find this kind of interesting…Coca-Cola with coffee! It has launched nationwide now! Maybe you’ve heard about it. It really is a mix of Coke and Coffee…and it has about double the caffeine that a regular Coke has. It actually sounds pretty good with lots of ice in a frosty glass, but my question is…should you try it with just a splash of milk? Go ahead, Be brave! And have a great day!
January 22, 2021
Well here we go…next week is the last week of January and I have a feeling that come February, it’s going to turn into Winter. Around central PA, February can often be the worst weather month of the year…But at least it’s the shortest.
But before we get there…and to the Big Game…let’s get the match-up ready to go, and we’ll do that this weekend…It’s Tampa Bay @ Green Bay and Buffalo @ KC….i’m picking the final match-up to be Green Bay and Buffalo, but we’ll see…
And check out this new survey. two-thirds of Americans between 25 and 45 say they feel physically older than their actual age. I think it depends on when you ask. What I mean is…in the morning I feel much older than I am when I try to get out of bed. But at 10 o’clock at night…I feel much younger. Hmmmm…Wonder what it means.
Have a great weekend!
January 19, 2021
Hey today is a day for great celebration! It is in fact…National Popcorn Day…I don’t think I really know anyone that doesn’t like popcorn…but I know a few people that consider it to be one of the four food groups. There’s a new survey out that says our favorite flavors of popcorn are butter…salted…and white cheddar, in that order. (or maybe all three at once right?) And our favorite things to sprinkle on popcorn, according to the survey…salt, garlic salt, Parmesan and taco seasoning (which I’ve never tried but sounds great)
Celebrate National Popcorn Day with a big bowl of it and a movie. According to this survey, even with theaters closed, 60% of us watched more movies last year than any other year in our life. Of course, that’s not too hard to believe considering all the time many of us spent at home this past year with a TV remote in our hand right?…
Have a great week!
January 15, 2021
Heading into the weekend and it’s going to be a great one. Serious playoff football is on the way. If you’re a Ravens fan, Saturday night is your night! Here’s who I like this weekend. The Packers beat the Rams… I think the Ravens will struggle…but get past Buffalo. The Browns will put up some good numbers but in the end lose to the Chiefs, and The Saints beat the Buccaneers. Four great games.
But just as important this weekend, Saturday is international hot and spicy food day. What could be more perfect when I’m planning my “Football Food?” I’m thinking maybe some awesome Mexican food for the game Saturday but here’s my problem…The local place I get that from has been a little light on the “hot and spicy” the last few times I got it. I want to tell the guy that I really do want my food to be hot, but what that means to me may not be the same thing it means to him. I need to be careful and keep a glass of milk nearby…just in case…wish me luck.
Have a great weekend! And, oh yeah, happy 99th birthday to Betty White on Sunday. She’s awesome.
January 12, 2021
It’s been quite a while since I was able to feel comfortable going to a hotel and relaxing…I’ve always enjoyed a break in the middle of Winter to do a mini vacation but it’s been a little tough. Looks like we can see some things start to calm down a little over the next six months or so…here’s hoping we’ll see the return of the getaway weekend! A few things may be a bit different though, according to a new hotel trends survey. Here’s what we’ll likely see happen in 2021…More rooms that can can double as an office for one thing.(talk about a working vacation right?) Also, more “touchless technology”, like using an app on your phone as a room key, more flexibility if you need to cancel, and more outdoor spaces. It all sounds great to me. Let’s keep moving forward. Spring is just around the corner…(kind of)
January 8, 2021
I’m pretty sure I’m going to do a Groundhog impression come Monday! I’ll step outside to see if it’s still winter…
Because between now and then, it’s six big playoff football games!!! I’ll be hibernating for the weekend, and of course you know, I’m a life long Washington football fan so Saturday night is the night! Washington’s defense has been pretty solid most of the year but…good enough to stop Tom Brady? We’ll see. I believe though…
I’m also liking the Ravens chances for moving on too! Also the Steelers on Sunday night!
I think the area teams are going to do well this weekend.
I suppose if it has to be cold, and has to be winter, I’m glad it’s a weekend of great football and nacho’s! Hey…even if all the the local teams lose…I’ll still have nachos…
Good luck to your team and have a great weekend!!!
January 4, 2021
Hey, welcome to 2021!
I hope you had a great holiday and I hope you’re ready for a new (and better) year!
Any New Year’s resolutions? According to a new study that just came out, only 26% of people kept all of their resolutions last year. That means 3 out of 4 of us didn’t, but it was a tough year right?
This year, the top 10 resolutions we’re making include:
Exercising more . . . losing weight . . . eating healthier . . . saving more money . . . spending more time with family . . . making a career move . . . home renovations . . . getting a new hobby . . . spending less time on social media . . . and drinking less.
Do whatever works for you…I guess for me…my big resolution is patience…waiting for things to move closer to “normal”. That will make for a great 2021! Happy New Year!!!
December 23, 2020
Hard to believe but Christmas is just about here…I always look forward to Christmas…but this year I think I’m looking forward to the end of the year just as much…Just like everyone else, I’ve had enough of 2020! But I do hope we all come out of this year with new optimism, new hope, and a new appreciation for some things we’ve missed for a long time…
If you’re stuck for a very last minute Christmas present for someone, and I know that doesn’t mean you’re putting things off, you’re just using all the time available to you…right? Here’s help! According to a new survey, the best place to get a last minute gift for someone…the grocery store! I love that idea. Who doesn’t want a box of cookies right? Also try a drug store, convenience store or gas station.
Just remember, whatever you do…or don’t get to do…it’s o.k. Enjoy the holiday and get ready for a great 2021!
December 15, 2020
Hey, you got milk? Here it comes!
Seriously, it’s been a long time since we had a big snow and plenty of Froggy listeners are excited about it.
If you’ve had trouble finding some Christmas spirit, the next few days should help you out. Hard to believe it’s only 10…count ’em…10 days till Christmas. Are you ready? According to the post office today is the day to get things in the mail for the best chance of arriving on time.
Enjoy the weather…I like the thought of the days after the snow, the winter scene of the leftover snow in the fields and on the trees. I’m okay with that.
Be safe, travel carefully! (and make sure you have bread and milk, because that’s what people do right?)
Have a great weekend!
December 11, 2020
Hey, look at this…an early Christmas present for me today. An announcement from Disney about some upcoming movies and other projects. Like around 5,000 new projects. Seriously.
It looks like, among other projects, there are ten new Star Wars series and 10 new Marvel series coming to Disney plus over the next few years. But the one that’s really a Christmas present for me is…”Indiana Jones 5″ with Harrison Ford back as the star. It won’t be out for about two years but I’m willing to wait.
Try to enjoy the nice, mild weather this weekend. I have a feeling our mild temperatures are about to come to a screeching halt…very soon! (snow coming next week…maybe…hmmmm)
Have a great weekend!
June 11, 2020
Are we ready for Summer?? How could we NOT be?? After a Spring that really challenged all of us, I think we’re due some happy times! As a Nationals fan, I am hopeful that baseball returns in SOME capacity soon. It looks like the NBA will be back soon, and probably the NHL as well. We’re all adapting to this new world, but we can’t thank you enough for hanging right by our side thru the past 3 months. We promise to keep the good vibes coming out of your radio all summer long!
June 12th, 2019
OK… Here it comes… this weekend is Father’s Day… I know it’s not nearly as exciting as Mother’s Day and sales stats show that to be the case. We’ll spending about half as much on Dad’s day as we do on Mom’s day. But I guess that’s ok. This new survey out this week shows why… Truth is, your dad doesn’t want much for the big day. Check this out… here’s what dad wants…
1. A phone call from my kids, 47%.
2. A big steak, 41%.
3. Some peace and quiet, 38%.
4. Watching a baseball game with the family, 38%.
5. A few beers, 35%.
So, call dad and invite him for a steak dinner at a nice quiet restaurant. Then an evening baseball game. You’ll score big! Just trying to help! – Davy
May 17th, 2019
I watched the final episode of Big Bang Theory last night…I loved that show…in fact I almost hate to see it go more than the one that ends Sunday night…Yes, Game Of Thrones. I love GoT too though. The final episode is Sunday night and probably plenty of people will be… uh … sick on Monday. but here’s what is surprising.
A petition to redo Season 8 is out there. It passed 700,000 signatures last night . . . and now they’re shooting for a MILLION or more. Guess what isn’t going to ever happen. There will never be a re-shoot of the most expensive final season of a show ever…If that does happen…I have maybe 200 movies I’d like to see the end re-written for. – Davy
May 1st, 2019
Those Spring showers have been for real…In my neighborhood everything is growing fast and it’s tough to get caught up. I think I’m going to be spending a few hours this weekend weed whacking to get things in shape.
Otherwise it’s a very big month for TV!!! Three big shows will come to an end this month. Maybe you’ve heard Game Of Thrones is one of them (hard to avoid) it wraps up on May 19th,. But also the last episode of Veep on HBO airs May 12th. And finally, one that I’ll really miss is Big Bang Theory that ends on May 16th. Some great watching this month. Enjoy!
Meanwhile…my mower is back from being serviced! Let the games begin!!! – Davy
April 23rd, 2019
It’s gotta be one of the nicest days of the year, so far. Make sure you get out and enjoy it!
The alternating rain and sunshine have made my grass grow…big time…my problem is…I still haven’t learned that I have to take my lawn mower in for service and maintenance before April! I got it there two weeks ago and when I asked, “When do you think it’ll be done?”…She just laughed…I think she knew…
I could really use that mower…NOW! I’m thinking I’ve gotta find a neighbor kid who wants a Froggy T-shirt real bad…Oh yes…I love bartering… – Davy
April 15th, 2019
Ok…I do have a little bit of a dragon hangover…I’m a Game Of Thrones fan…and if you are too you know that the end is underway…The first episode of the final season ran last night and no spoilers here, but it was a lot of setup to get ready for the final episodes. I found myself wishing I had a dragon who I could send to negotiate my tax bill for me today…
Today is the day you gotta have your income taxes filed. Did you know it’s also the anniversary of the Titanic sinking. Coincidence? Hmmmm… – Davy
April 10th, 2019
Generally I’m ok with the thousand or so flavors of things like oreo cookies,,,cereal…ice cream etc. but I think I’ve found where I draw the line.
Heinz is celebrating Easter with a Cadbury Creme mayonnaise. Huh? It’s just what it sounds like. A mix of mayo, mustard and crushed up Cadbury creme eggs. Heinz is doing taste-tests in breweries throughout London and that’s a pretty good idea. I’m thinking this would only taste good after a few beers (…lots).
I don’t think I’m ever going to be ready to try a chocolate, mustard, mayo spread. Can’t do it… – Davy
April 8th, 2019
Somehow Mondays are a lot easier to face when the weather gets warmer…and here we are! Happy Spring!
I have to admit I don’t know how to not watch music awards shows. I Have to see what happens and I have to see who wins. If you saw last night’s ACM awards you already know this…but big Congrats to Keith Urban for a very much deserved win for Entertainer Of The Year! I loved seeing that. I also liked seeing Dan & Shay get some respect last night with three wins! Nice
I also thought some of the performances were great too. Hope you enjoyed the show… Davy
April 5th, 2019
Pretty soon the weather will turn much warmer and on the weekends I’ll be outside doing things so I’m thinking this could be movie weekend. It’s opening weekend for “Shazam”. A strange kind of superhero movie that looks really good! It may surprise everyone with a very big opening weekend. Also it’s the re-make of Pet Semetary. Hey… I read the original book by Stephen King… and I also saw the original movie. I think it’s among his scariest stuff. None for me thanks.
Have a great weekend! – Davy
April 3rd, 2019
It’s a very windy day… welcome to the winds of April (is that a thing?). Check out this new survey…It’s from a paper towel maker and it claims.. The average person spills something on themselves 100 times a year. And 25% of people have spilled a drink on their desk at work.
Wow…that’s like every three or four days. I would say I find that hard to believe except for the fact that I probably spill something on myself more like 365 times a year. In fact, people who know me well know that I wear lots of clothes that are very close to the color of coffee for a good reason… – Davy
April 2nd, 2019
I hope you survived April Fool’s day. The weather is getting warmer and I’m loving Spring time. It’s baseball time too and I’m watching plenty of that. Bryce Harper returns to DC tonight as a Phillie for the first time and that should be interesting. But I also love that the Orioles are off to a surprisingly good start. They’re expected to be pretty bad this season but they took 2 out of 3 from the Yankees. this weekend. The Oriole’s are probably going to win the World Series now. – Davy
March 20th, 2019It’s finally here! Spring! Yes today is the Spring Equinox and if you’re not a fan of Winter… then this is the day you’ve been waiting for. I’m loving the weather getting warmer. Now I just need to get some Spring cleaning underway.
Have you seen this on Twitter. The latest thing appears to be people are making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and then putting mustard on top! Not kidding! The truth is… that may taste good but I’ll never know… because I’m never trying it to find out! – Davy
March 14th, 2019
It ‘s almost the weekend and I’m already thinking a little celebrating is in order… Hey… It’s the last weekend of Winter!
Maybe I’ll order some of this for my celebrating… Grasshopper Beer. That’s right Grasshopper Beer. It’s from the Benchtop Brewing Company, in Norfolk, Virginia. Get this… it’s called Chapilin Exchange. It contains grasshoppers , lime zest, and chipotle peppers. I hate to be the one to point it out… but everyone knows if you’re making Grasshopper Beer you should use LEMON zest… not LIME zest… wow… – Davy
March 13th, 2019
I’ve gotta admit this is one of my favorite times of the year. Lots to look forward to. I think it took me two days to adjust… but I love the extra hour of daylight. I’m trying to spend at least some of it outside!
Also it’s two weeks now until the start of baseball season. And no matter what the groundhog thinks… Spring really is just around the corner. One week from today… It’s Spring! – Davy
February 28th, 2019
It’s a good thing that February is the shortest month of the year. I’m more than happy to say goodbye to it. It’s just that much closer to Spring!
Check out this new survey… Someone asked 2,000 people to name the food they miss most when going on a diet. Chocolate was #1 on the list, then ice cream, pizza, potato chips, donuts, burgers, cake, bread and Chinese food. This worries me… mostly because I’m pretty sure that’s my menu for this weekend! – Davy

Hey it’s Wednesday and if you have a normal work week you’re halfway to the weekend!
Check out this new survey… It says one in 5 U.S. workers say they are late to work at least once a week. Not only that, but one in 10 workers say they are late to their jobs at least twice a week! I was going to tell you more about this survey… but I’m running late today. – Davy

While it’s the season for a break from football…. this is the time that discussions start about rule changes for the future. Some are good and some not so great.
Check this out… The NFL is considering adopting a new touchdown celebration rule. A team would be assessed a 15-yard penalty if any players leave the bench or sideline to celebrate in the end zone with their teammates. Lots of coaches don’t want players leaving the bench. The only team not concerned about this rule change would be the Washington Redskins…for obvious reasons. First you have to score a touchdown to leave the bench to celebrate. But maybe THIS will be the year? – Davy

I hope you had a great weekend! Be careful today and tomorrow because we’re in the middle of another reminder that it’s still winter! (On the bright side… 27 days till daylight savings time… just another sign of spring right?)
The Grammy’s were last night and, as usual, it wasn’t great. I need to lower my expectations a bit I think. But I was glad to see Kacey Musgraves win big! Also I was very happy to see Dan & Shay win for Best Country performance by a duo or group for “Tequila!”
Don’t know about you but Snowy days and Mondays always… well… never mind. – Davy

Happy weekend eve! You’re almost there!
I ran across this story and I had to share it with you because it’s…frightening…amusing…and most of all obvious! A new, just released, study shows a regular serving of fried chicken is associated with a higher risk of death. The study showed that those who ate fried chicken once or more per day had a 13% higher risk of death. I don’t think this comes as a surprise to anyone and I can’t imagine how much someone spent to do this study. But I think the most surprising finding in the study is that they found some people who eat fried chicken every single day and sometimes more than once!
On the bright side though… they also found that you can listen to Zac Brown sing “Chicken Fried” many times a day and still be healthy and happy! – Davy

Today is National Frozen Yogurt Day! I think you know how to celebrate.
Ice cream is one of the great pleasures of life and maybe you heard me mention this on the air yesterday: there’s an ice cream shop in New York that’s offering an ice cream bouquet for Valentine’s Day. It’s 19 scoops of ice cream on a single cone. I’m not sure I could eat 19 scoops of ice cream… but I’m definitely willing to give it a try. Happy Wednesday! – Davy

Welcome to Spring! At least for a couple of days.
Now that I’m emerging from my football food coma, it’s a good time to share this with you. More about food! It’s been bubbling under the news recently and check it out… A new survey asked people to name some of their strange snack food combos they like
And here are 10 that multiple people mentioned . . .
1. Cheese and potato chips.
2. Apples and cheese.
3. Meat and sour cream.
4. Ice cream and French fries.
5. Potato chips and ketchup.
6. Cream cheese and jelly.
7. Pizza and ketchup.
8. Popcorn and hot sauce.
9. Apple pie and cheddar cheese.
10. Peanut butter and pickles.
I’ve actually had 8 of these ten and I like them. No thanks on #7 and #10 but I’ll add one that I love. Peanut butter and spaghetti! Yep. Learned it from my dad and it’s a winner. Try it! – Davy

Here we go it’s almost the big weekend and check this out…
According to the American Institute of Food Distribution, this Sunday is the second biggest food consumption day of the year behind Thanksgiving. It’s true in my house for sure. I’ve planned out the menu for Sunday and I think my guests are gonna love it!
Iceberg lettuce, no dressing
Saltine crackers with chickpea topping
Scrambled egg whites
What do you think? Wait… on second thought, I think I’ll have Pizza, Wings, and Beer! Go Rams! – Davy

There’s a shocking new survey that’s out and it’s from the American Pie Council. It appears we like pie. In fact almost all of us do. The survey shows that 92% of Americans Enjoy eating pie! Me, definitely included.
The most popular pie…Apple. Then it’s pumpkin, pecan, sweet potato and chocolate. I’m more of a cherry pie fan myself but…here’s the shocking part. There IS an American Pie Council. Where do I find them and how do I join? I’m in…big time!!! – Davy

The next three days will definitely be cold. But check this out… Yesterday in Grand Forks, North Dakota the wind chills were – 60! Green Bay was -47… parts of Minnesota were -54. Yeah, that’s cold! On the other hand, on the opposite side of the world in New Zealand there’s a heatwave happening… average daily temps are 96! Just goes to show you, no matter where we are in the world we can find something to complain about. Stay safe – Davy

We’re heading for the big weekend and as we get ready for the game I’m seeing plenty of these kinds of stories… An unidentified fan of the Patriots paid $180, 685 for 8 tickets on the 50 yard line for the Super Bowl. I think if I’m going to pay that much money for a ticket, I better get to play in the game… and… I should get to decide who should win! (I’d pick the Rams by the way) – Davy

Well this weekend is that all important sports weekend. The biggest of the year probably. That’s right, it’s the weekend of the Pro Bowl!!! That’s right… THE Pro Bowl!!! OK, so I’m kidding. I don’t think I know of anyone who much cares about the Pro Bowl (including the players playing in it) It’s the NFL’s All Star game and I’m not really sure why it’s played. Goal number one is…don’t get hurt! Seriously, a player getting hurt in a meaningless game would be a really bad thing. I just hope all the players take it for what it is…just a (fun?) game… In case you’re interested, it’s Sunday afternoon at 3 from Orlando Florida (Hey, I’m going to DisneyWorld) – Davy
